Spanish for the Physician’s Office


Developed by practicing physicians, office nurses and
medical office managers, this program was designed to train non-Spanish speaking physician’s office staff in functional Spanish language skills. You’ll learn important phrases and questions for successful front office etiquette and management, patient registration, taking a patient’s history,intake instructions, making appointments and more. You’lllearn key phrases to determine a patient’s complaint, obtain vital signs, and assess a patient’s condition. This is a practical, learner friendly survival Spanish program to better interact with Spanish-speaking patients.


What You Will Learn

• Typical belief systems, folk remedies, gender issues and dietary beliefs that may affect your patient

Spanish for
the Workplace


This general program is intended to prepare non-Spanish
speaking supervisors and employees to use Spanish to enhance their ability to interact with Spanish-speakers. By using interactive role playing, modeling, choral response, and simulations you’ll learn the basics that will help you communicate better with your Spanish speaking employees.

In addition to greetings and basic etiquette in Spanish, you’ll learn key phrases and responses used in hiring and dismissing employees; explaining employment issues, work rules and regulations; and reviewing safety issues, plus much more. You’ll leave this program with tools to create more understanding for increased productivity, more harmonious work environments and increased workplace safety.

Spanish Speakers in the Workplace


You’ll learn about the many issues involved in effectively
working with Spanish-speakers with limited English proficiency. This course primarily focuses on the cultural similarities and differences that you might encounter. There is also a small language component that covers greetings, etiquette, compliments, safety and medical emergencies.

You’ll learn the most important commands, questions, and phrases pertinent to daily interactions between supervisors and Spanish-speaking employees.

Through specially created role playing, learning pairs and simulations you’ll gain functional language skills for better interactions with Spanish-speaking (limited-English-proficient) people. If you need to obtain specific personal information and data from Spanishspeakers, this is the course for you.
